Bleeding between periods

If you are taking any birth control pill, it’s quite common to initially have some bleeding or light spotting between your scheduled periods on the days you are taking active therapy (often called “breakthrough bleeding”). This is especially true if you have missed a pill or when you initially begin lengthening the time between your scheduled periods. If you haven’t missed any pills then this bleeding or spotting does not mean that your product is not working - you should still be protected from pregnancy. This bleeding is often just how your body is adjusting to the dose or dosing regimen and generally decreases with time if you stick with it and continue taking your pill daily as directed. If the bleeding persists for 7 days you should talk to your doctor.
